The Kuali Rice team is dedicated to providing the middleware services required for the development of Kuali applications, in addition to a reusable framework for development of business applications. Current contributing members on the Kuali Rice Project are individuals from Indiana University, Cornell University, and The University of Arizona. The project was started in January of 2007 as a reaction to the evolving vision of Kuali as an umbrella suite of administrative applications for higher-ed. Rice's roots come from the early Nervous System and Workflow development done during the infancy of Kuali Financials.
